Abstract
In the landscape of the Kraków area the most important are the Upper Jurassic rocks, which are highly lithological diversified. Most of the limestones represent massive limestones interpreted as microbial-sponge reefs and bedded limestones with cherts. Numerous diagenesis phenomena can be observed in limestones, including silicification and dolomitization. Correct characterization and interpretation of data collected from Jurassic rocks in terms of scientific research, education, and geoengineering requires detailed sedimentological studies, with particular emphasis on tectonic phenomena disturbing Upper Jurassic deposits in the Kraków area.
